MLM turns 5! - What I’ve Learned These Past 5 Years

Five years ago, I walked away from Major League Baseball with a body full of bruises and a mind full of lessons.

Some people retire from pro sports to rest. I didn’t. I left the game with more urgency than ever—not to leave baseball behind, but to bring everything I had learned to those still in it.

I had spent nearly a decade in the big leagues, but the truth is, I didn’t arrive there by accident or just because of talent. I got there because I learned how to out-train my emotions. How to turn adversity into fuel. How to build confidence from the inside out, even when everything around me felt unstable.

That became the spark for Major League Mindset. What started as my personal playbook has grown into a proven, structured system that’s helped thousands of athletes—and their families—gain something even more valuable than success:

Resilience. Identity. Confidence that lasts.

What I’ve Learned Coaching Thousands The Past 5 Years

Here’s the truth that’s stuck with me through the past five years of coaching:

Most athletes don’t need more reps. They need better systems.

It’s not that they don’t care. They care too much—and it overwhelms them.

MLM gave me a platform to teach what I wish someone had taught me in my youth:

  • That confidence is trained, not born.

  • That routine beats motivation.

  • That your identity has to be rooted in effort, not stats.

I’ve worked with thousands now—across all sports, ages, and levels—and I see the same patterns:

  • Kids tying their self-worth to the scoreboard.

  • Parents unsure how to support without adding pressure.

  • Coaches doing their best, but missing the mental tools to truly build leaders.

That’s what we’ve spent five years solving—together.

Why This Is Bigger Than Sports

If you ask me what I’m most proud of, it’s not the pro teams we’ve worked with or how many athletes we’ve coached (though I’m grateful for both).

It’s the DMs I get from a high school catcher saying they didn’t quit because of MLM. It’s the email from a dad saying his daughter plays free again. It’s the Zoom call with a coach who finally understands how to talk to his players when they’re slumping.

This isn’t about chasing wins. It’s about helping people become unshakable, day by day, from the inside out.

And that mission? That’s just getting started.

Five Years Down—A Lifetime to Go

As I reflect on these five years, one thing is clear:

Major League Mindset was never about me. It was built to serve—to teach, to coach, to equip others with what I learned the hard way.

If you’re reading this and you’ve been part of the journey—thank you. If you’re just finding us—welcome. There’s a place here for every athlete, parent, or coach who believes in growth, not perfection.

Let’s keep building. Let’s keep showing up.

Let’s keep becoming the kind of people who win—not just on the field, but in life.
